Baby BJD Sweet Pea, by Kim Lasher

Another new doll by Kim Lasher, available from your favorite dealer, Sweet Pea, she's the first baby ball-jointed doll in the line. Perfect as a baby sister, this 8" BJD has two interchangeable face plates -- sleeping or open eyes (with face-ups) for two different looks.

She includes a pink flower hat, a green flower bunting, white onesie and socks, blue eyes, blonde wig.

Sweet Pea is a limited edition of 150, and retails for $298. Happily Ever After offers flexible lay-away plans, as do most of Lasher's dealers.

Phoebe - Kim Lasher's Toy Shoppe's exclusive

Kim Lasher's Phoebe, a Toy Shoppe exclusive.
Introducing Kim Lasher's exclusive to the Toy Shoppe, Drucilla's sister Phoebe! She is a limited edition of only 75 dolls, and is available for preorder now. In the case of more than 75 orders (which is likely), all orders for this doll will be entered into a lottery, and the winners will be notified on November 15, 2010.

Phoebe's close up.
Phoebe is 15.5" tall, and she's a fully ball-jointed resin doll. She includes a face-up, the wig and eyes shown. The black and white outfit is sewn of coordinating plaid, floral and striped fabrics, giving her a gothic feel. She also includes black lace wrist warmers, gray tights and boots. She also includes a handmade black kitty friend.

Her retail price is $650, and she is available in monthly payments of $54.17 on the AMC payment plan.

Alice, simply unhappy

Alice, unhappy
Originally uploaded by alington
Kim Lasher's Simply Alice seems to be a little upset with me today. (At yesterday's doll meet, she even made a few people uncomfortable with her glare.)

She's wearing a DollHeart wig (Lynea), and her own skirt, tights and shoes, and a bodice and overskirt hand-sewn by Miseri from the DoA board. It was originally made for a larger Dollmore Model body. My friend Jen modified it by machine for a Peak's Woods body, and Alice can wear it, too.

Though she really isn't pleased with it. But I am. More photos on Flickr.

New Kim Lasher doll is available -- Lily

Available to pre-order from her regular dealers (I highly recommend Happily Ever After), Kim Lasher is offering a new LE250 BJD for sale, 11" tall (close to YoSD size), called Lilly. Following her usual design aesthetic, this adorable little thing comes in the outfit shown--a hoodie, t-shirt, hot pink tutu, striped leggings, tennis shoes and fingerless gloves. She's got a fun dark brown wig (it looks like a pony-tailed JRock wig to me) and dark brown eyes, and is hand-painted at Lasher Studios.

She retails for $498, plus shipping, and scheduled to ship in the November/December range. This is the first release of a large edition of this size.

I'm finding she looks quite a bit like a smaller version of Layla and Lotus. I think she's quite cute!

Simply Alice is finally home!

Jointing etc., originally uploaded by alington.
Meet Simply Alice, my latest Kim Lasher BJD. She's a little over 23" tall, and my very first little-girl SD BJD. I ordered her maybe even before I saw the sketch.

Why it pays to be a member of Kim Lasher's Yahoo group!

I have to confess, I am a die-hard Kim Lasher fan. Her grumpy and funny little faces make me feel all warm and gooey inside, unlike any other type of BJD out there.

This morning, Kim announced a limited edition 30 exclusive doll named Summer. She's a YoSD size (about 12") with a honey blonde mohair wig, brown Eyeco soft glass eyes, a pink and brown summery dress with matching leggings (by Vicki of Froggy Duds) and pink flower sandals. Her estimated ship date is June 30, 2010, and her retail price is $475. This doll was made available for her Yahoo group members first, and next week, open to non-group members.

Additionally, there is a (LE30) Teddy Bear available for order as well. She is a custom bear made from vintage cotton print and pile fabric, handmade by Shannon of Shannon's 'Lil Critters. She's incredibly detailed--from her embroidered and glossed nose to her hand-dyed tiny buttons--and she measures only 3.5 inches. She is available to order separately for $45.

I encourage all you Kim Lasher BJD fans to go sign up for her Yahoo group. It may be too late for you to order Summer now (Summer sold out in 20 minutes!), but you may have a chance for another exclusive later this year.

Anya in pink

Anya in pink, originally uploaded by alington.
I'm getting ready for Valentine's Day and converting my dolls to pink outfits and hair, where I can.

This is Anya, newly sueded (I'm working an a blog post to explain sueding for my Dolls blog) and blushed. She's wearing Morphoa's pink wig today, and it's a bit big, but really cute.

I am so excited to tell you I've seen real-life photos of Kim Lasher's 2010 dolls, including Simply Alice. If you have the funds, and have been considering a doll, you might want to check out her website today and over the next few days--they are wonderful. Also, she previewed a smaller doll, Violet, who might be YoSD sized. So adorable. (Must have!)

My family will be eating rice and beans for the rest of the year if I'm not careful! See the rest of Anya's photoshoot on Flickr.

Simply Alice - Real Life Photo

Of course, I have to post a real photo of Kim Lasher's first SD-sized resin BJD when she's live on Kim's website. I believe some dealers still have her available.
If you are in the Orlando area this weekend, Kim is displaying at IDEX this weekend, at booth #702. She's giving away a ball-jointed doll in a free drawing, and she will have a few "little surprises" at the show, whatever that might mean!
Again, for those of you new to Kim Lasher and her wonderful ball-jointed dolls, here are the details for Alice:
She stands 23 inches tall, and she's a limited edition of 125 pieces. She has a beautiful sandy-blonde wig. She'll have silicon blue eyes and a blue cotton dress with a corset tie up the back, crochet lace trim, chiffon sleeves and flower embroidery at the bottom of her skirt. She'll come to you wearing black and white striped tights with white patent leather shoes.

DOLLS Digital Edition February 2010

Ack! A real life photo of Simply Alice, Kim Lasher's new SD-sized BJD. I love, love, love her! She has freckles! There are still some available to order from Kim Lasher dealers. Check with Happily Ever After. Isn't she cute? I hope this link works--it should take you to page 2-3 in Dolls Magazine, February 2010 digital edition.

Check out the adorable new outfit and Zoey, Goodreau's newest 17" doll, too, on the opposite page. So pretty!

Simply Alice...

The Toy Shoppe features another sketch of Kim Lasher's new SD-sized BJD, Simply Alice. I think I love her! Her little face is so sad!

Her wig will be blonde mohair, and she will have glass blue eyes. Her dress will be made of blue cotton, and she'll be wearing black and white striped tights with black patent leather shoes. Plus she'll have a key necklace.

And she's 23 inches tall. I just love her! I can't wait to see real photos. They should be available after IDEX (the last week in January).

Anya by Kim Lasher

Anya, originally uploaded by alington. "You did what??"

I told Anya she would be getting a big sister soon--and that inspired the following photo story. (I have the new SD-sized doll on order, and she is due to arrive in February or March.)

"Does my hair look all right?"

"I'll certainly welcome any new doll into my heart and home!"

"In fact, I'm so excited, I'll do a little happy dance and blow her a kiss!"

Sketch of Kim Lasher's Simply Alice!

Eeek! The sketch is up. I'm so excited it's not even funny.

Simply Alice will be Kim Lasher's first SD-sized doll, and is scheduled to be the first to be released in 2010.

She's a limited edition of 125 dolls, and retails for $780 for the full-set doll, with her outfit, which appears to be a blue dress, and full facial paint. She's 23" tall.

Photos of the prototype doll(s) should be available at the end of January after IDEX.

And ack. I have her on lay-away at Happily Ever After.

Kim Lasher sketches up at her website and Denver Doll Emporium!

Ack--says the Kim Lasher fan! There are three new sketches posted and four new dolls by artist Kim Lasher to be sold in 2010 at the Denver Doll site (and oh--they are taking pre-orders), as well as her own webpage. Photos and prototypes won't be available till after IDEX. But she has released the following information:
  • Most exciting to me, a 23" (SD sized) doll called "Simply Alice." I must have died and gone to heaven! No sketch of this one, yet, but I can't wait to see her. She's a limited edition of 125 dolls, and a suggested retail price of $780, per Lasher's website. She's also first to be released. Hello? Christmas money anyone? Should I? Ack!
  • Lotus is a 16" Asian girl, retail $488, LE 100, tentative release date scheduled for April. Outfit: pale pink, white eyelet... think Lolita.
  • Azaleah, a 16" elf girl, retail $488, LE 100, tentative release date scheduled for June. Blonde hair, blue eyes. Red floral dress on white, with white fishnet stockings and white chunky mary jane shoes.
  • And oh my, Ivy, a 16" girl, retail $488, LE 100, tentative release date scheduled for August. She's a redhead with green eyes and has freckles. She'll be wearing a gray hoodie, white bleated blouse, red plaid skirt, black thigh highs and black chunky mary janes.
Yippee! I adore Kim Lasher's dolls--I have Anya, and have been sitting on my credit cards for her past two releases. I cannot wait for the next few! They have my name on them!

Ethereal Anya

Ethereal Anya, originally uploaded by alington.

If you're on the fence about buying a Kim Lasher doll--just do it. Anya is my most photogenic doll ever. I'm not a great photographer, and even I have a hard time getting a bad photo of this lovely girl.

This is Anya, dressed in a gorgeous crocheted top (a OOAK which I'm sure that Brenda would recreate for you) by Froggy Duds (look them up on Etsy--they are AWESOME with great prices and amazing quality!), and in a Michele Hardy wig (sized for a Peak's Woods doll, but I'm borrowing it here--isn't it sweet?), and her original Kim Lasher skirt.

I think she looks like an angel. I need another Kim Lasher doll. I would be dead if I ever passed by a Kim Lasher booth at a doll convention--really! My husband would probably kill me.

More full-sized photos on my Mobile Me gallery, or the rest of the smaller-sized set on Flickr. Enjoy!

Kim Lasher has a new doll debuting at The Toy Village on August 15, in Lansing, MI: Adeline.

Adeline is 40 cm tall (16 inches) and is a limited edition of 75. She's a resin ball-jointed doll (these are prototype photos), who should be shipped by Christmas.

Her $475 price tag includes:
  • hand painted face-up
  • light blue eyes
  • light blonde hair
  • blue dress and matching hair bow
  • white leggings
  • white leather mary jane shoes
Adeline can be pre-ordered through Kim Lasher's dealers. I recommend Happily Ever After as a reliable source. I bought Anya there, and they are wonderful.
