Next up, we have Goodreau Doll's Glinda, from the Upside Down Oz collection. She is a vinyl BJD, who comes fully dressed, with a face-up, wig and outfit.
Ideal for the beginning BJD collector, this vinyl ball-jointed doll is perfectly pink, and perfectly sturdy. She has blue interchangeable eyes, which are already set perfectly, which give you the power to change them if you like, but you don't have to.
Her outfit is really fun--she includes a ruffled tee, knit cardigan, fun tiered skirt, sparkling boots, tights and necklace. She's a modern Glinda.
Though originally released in 2009, you can still find her for sale at some retailers, such as Sweetheart Dolls, and Katherine's Cottage.

Exciting Goodreau Doll update!

Modern Doll Souvenir Doll Photo property of Goodreau Dolls, LLC. |
We have decided to end all manufacturing under the label of Goodreau Doll, and move it to our new company. I will head the design team in the new company, but there will be other designers. If you would like a Goodreau Doll, designed by me, they are still available on www.goodreaudollstore.com also at a few of our retailers. We received our last resin shipment this month, and our last doll will be the banquet doll at Modern Doll collectors convention in San Antonio fall 2011. You can witness the birth of the next generation of dolls in July 2011, as we debut our first line from our new company!!
Also, please save the date: September 14-17, 2011. You'll want to attend the Modern Doll Collectors Convention in San Antonio Texas. Registration is open, and costs $295, which includes the souvenir doll, the last doll created by Goodreau Dolls. She looks gorgeous! Unfortunately, no absentee packages are available for this event.
Additionally, all convention registrants (who register before July 1, 2011) will be entered into a drawing for the last 25" resin BJD Aimee doll, donated by Goodreau Dolls. The drawing will be held at the Saturday night banquet at the convention.
That alone makes me want to attend!

I'm thankful for... #10
By
Kathie
Goodreau's American BJD Secret, the other half of the TNT Flip trade. I thought with her beehive wig she really needed some mod clothes so I dressed her in a poncho that my grandmother made for my doll's on my 9th birthday. Thanks for another great trade, Alison!

End of edition Ellowyne Wilde specials
By
Unknown
The end of edition items for both Ellowyne Wilde and Evangeline Ghastly are 15% off and they ship for free--only through tomorrow night (July 31) at midnight. No promo code is necessary. And unfortunately, this offer is valid for orders shipping within the continental US only.
By the way... did you know Antoinette (by Tonner Doll Company) can share Ellowyne's cool shoes? And some slim bust MSD-sized BJDs can wear her clothing?

Goodreau SD Aimee as Light Alice
By
Unknown
This is Goodreau Doll's Aimee, a new resin BJD, their first in this scale. These dolls are about four weeks out, and on their way. This doll has a face-up by (and photo is courtesy of) Leah Lilly, a talented face-up artist and part of the Froggy Duds team--I highly recommend her work.
Per Paulette Goodreau, for the first time, nude and blank dolls will be available for sale with eyes only for $525. For $595, she will come with a face-up by Paulette, random dress, wig, eyes and shoes. Additionally to the three collaboration project dolls currently listed on Goodreau Doll Lab's website (Dark Alice, Light Alice and Blue Alice), three more will be available as well: Flamingo Alice, Tattered Tea Party and White Alice. I can hardly wait to see!
From what I've seen of this doll, she's very lovely, and very versatile. She's larger than an SD13 doll, and stands 25" tall.

Be sure to check out Kerli's new "Tea Party" video for a peek at some one-of-a-kind Goodreau Dolls, customized by Paulette Goodreau herself, outfits by Connie of Marbled Halls. The song is on the soundtrack for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, also.

Julia as Stacy
By
Unknown
This is a resin Goodreau ball-jointed doll Julia, who has been redressed and styled as my friend Stacy, who got married in December.
My friend Jen Eugley made the gown, gloves and jewelry, according to Stacy's wedding dress (from David's bridal). She made the "embroidery" on the bodice with a sparkly fabric pen.
I had the bouquet commissioned by Erika from Canada, who has an store on Ebay for floral and other miniatures. It looks just like her original bouquet.
The wig is by Monique Gold (Roxie in burgundy), and Julia is wearing Glib acrylic eyes in deep brown.
We presented her with the doll on Sunday, and Stacy was thrilled. It was so much fun! You can see more photos, including full-size ones of the gown, and the grommet lacing detail of the back, on my Flickr photostream.

Whisper as OOAK Alice
By
Unknown
This is Goodreau Whisper, dressed in a one-of-a-kind outfit created by Jen Eugley for my birthday, as a Dark Alice. I really love how the outfit came out.
Jen used cotton fabrics for the strapless zip-up strapless dress, which is made from patchwork denim. The apron is black tulle with cream cotton eyelet and black ribbon trim. The fingerless gloves are made (with a thumbhole) out of gray rib knit. The hat is a tulle piece with pearl trim, and she even made matching ballet shoes with pearl trim. And Alice even gets her own pocket watch, created from a charm.
You can see Jen's Etsy store for more OOAK fashions for dolls.
My model is the lovely Goodreau Doll resin Whisper (about MSD sized--17"), wearing a Goodreau tapered auburn wig. See the rest of her photoshoot on Flickr.

I couldn't resist! One more sneak preview of Aimee, the soon-to-be released 25.5" Goodreau resin BJD.
Isn't she gorgeous? I like her even better as a raven! I can feel my dolly dollars seeping away right now.

Sneak Preview of Aimee - Goodreau's SD BJD!
By
Unknown
Big and beautiful--what else would you expect from doll artist Paulette Goodreau?
The newest (and most exciting) addition to the Goodreau Doll line is Aimee. She is currently in production, and should be available for pre-order after IDEX (the end of January). She's close to the SD16 size, stands about 25.5 inches tall (about 65 cm), and has an immature female body.
The teaser photo is the property of Paulette Goodreau (and was taken by her). Aimee is wearing borrowed clothing (an American Girl dress over an underskirt). No other photos are planned before her release--but I'll be sure to let you know if I see any!
I just think she is wonderful--I can hardly wait!

Goodreau News
By
Unknown
The doll shown here is Fannie, one of the new resin BJDs Goodreau Doll will be releasing in 2010 after IDEX. Previews will be shown on the website around that time (in late January). You may notice Fannie has a new face-up technique--with feathery brows and different eye lashes as well. I just think she is lovely. The outfit shown is a one-of-a-kind creation by Connie of Marbled Halls. Fannie (shown here) and Zoey will be the last of MSD size (LE 40 each). Two body colors will be light pink and normal peach. All dolls of this size will be retired.
2010 looks to be an exciting year for resin enthusiasts! There will be two new sizes added to the current line: a new 25" inch immature body girl (limited to 50 dolls). Of the larger 25" doll, there will be a very exclusive (LE5 each) Dark Alice and Light Alice full set, which will be created in collaboration with Chatham Village Plush, wardrobes by Wee Wardrobe.
A new 10.5" resin doll is also on its way, with four different heads. Each head will be limited to just 40 pieces.
In addition, there will be new 8" and 5" dolls (one with new hoof feet) added to the current line. All new dolls will be limited to just 60 (or under) in edition size.
The ABC vinyl dolls will also have dolls added to the current line as well, but these won't be released till April, after WonderCon and ComicCon (Chicago), though two new outfits (Dottie and Alice) will be available to pre-order soon.

Exclusive OOAK Raggedy Ann and Andy from Goodreau Doll
By
Unknown
Rush over to the Goodreau Doll Lab today and check out this adorable set of OOAK ABC dolls: Tis the Season Ann and Andy!
This is a one-of-a-kind set, created from male and female ABC bodies (these are vinyl chunky ball-jointed dolls with changeable eyes and wigs, 12" tall) by doll artist Paulette Goodreau. If you buy this set, you'll own the only one! The retail price is $345, which includes both dolls and outfits.
The dolls' face-ups have been repainted by hand (by Paulette). Plus Ann has had her ears pierced. The outfits are handmade by Gale Torres from the Wee Wardrobe. The dolls' wigs, eyes and shoes are also included.
Additionally, you can find a resin Holly full set for $185, and she's as cute as can be. I adore the 8" resin dolls by Goodreau--they are such sturdy dolls with great figures (great for beginning BJD collectors, and wonderfully affordable).
Holly (this limited edition version) includes a repainted face (also by Paulette), blonde wig with a floral bow decoration in it, a gorgeous red holiday dress with ribbon and tulle trim, fun white socks trimmed with red jingle bells and black shoes with red bows. Holly is shown posing with a stuffed white horse, but it doesn't say whether this horse is included. I love this girl! (I'm not sure, but I think Holly might be the Emersen sculpt.)

Meee-ow!
By
Unknown
This is Innuendo (formerly China Blossom--hence her super-light white skin), a vinyl BJD by Goodreau Doll, dressed in Kitty Love, an adorable and fun outfit also by Goodreau. This is from their first year of BJD clothing, I believe, and the detailing and quality is just as good as the current line--excellent!
A bit more on the outfit: the lingerie is trimmed with lace, and it even has attached garters, which hold up her stockings. And they are actually easy to use--as the clasps are actually the hook part of a hook-and-eye closure: a very nice detail, and very clever, I think. The tail is attached to her boyshorts, and she can still sit easily.
The boots are a little hard to get on her feet (they lace without zippers in the back). These days, when you buy boots from Goodreau, they come with zippers in the back for easy dressing.
To finish off her look, Innuendo is sporting a platinum Roxie wig (by Monique Gold). I think I may have also changed her eyes to blue (China Blossom had amber eyes originally). I think she may just become my Cheshire cat!
You can see some other photos of this outfit on my Flickr photostream--just in time for Halloween. Enjoy!

Modern Doll Collectors Convention Dolls on sale...
By
Unknown
There are only a few left, but man, are they cute! Most are in a limited supply, as they are convention left-overs (from the Modern Doll Collectors Convention), so get them while you can. My top two favorites:
- Berdine Creedy's centerpiece, High Adventurous Tea Time, and she was a limited edition of only 20 pieces, and retails for $450. She's so cute--and another 12-3/4" resin ball-jointed beauty, it appears. She really looks like the Harmoni sculpt to me, I have to admit. But her outfit is simply adorable. And she comes with a baby and a bear!
- From Goodreau Dolls, Elyse, a groovy normal-skin vinyl doll (she's the usually green Esmeralda sculpt from the Upside Down Oz collection), a limited edition of 100 dolls, listed at $180 retail. This doll is 17" tall, and is a fully strung new-bodied BJD with flanged joints, dressed as a hippie flower child.
- Backstabber by Tonner Doll, who is a ReImagination Doll from Sinister Circus. Oh, I'll be having to go off my Tonner Doll hiatus for a few of these lovely Sinister ladies, I presume. She is wonderful! She retailed for $175 and was a limited edition of 100.
- Evangeline Ghastly in An Unfortunate Life by Wilde Imagination. A vinyl ball-jointed doll, retailing for $225, she sports a lovely period costume. She has inset acrylic eyes--and half of these vinyl dolls have wigged hair, the other rooted--she appears rooted.
Resin Snow White at Goodreau Doll

- Resin Snow White (Dottie/Dorothy sculpt, only in resin!) $355 nude or $395 dressed
- Sparkling blue slippers (adorable sapphire slippers for MSD sized dolls) for $18
- Snow White's wig for just $20
- Snow White's traveling outfit for $64, including boots, $54 without the boots
- Snow White's royal hoodie $44 without shoes, $54 including shoes

Glinda - Upside Down Oz
By
Unknown
The latest addition to my collection is Glinda, a vinyl Goodreau BJD, MSD-sized, with a few mechanical joints, from the Upside Down Oz collection. She's even more lovely than the promotional photos, I think.
She's a whimsical take on the Wizard of Oz movie--she's wearing her knit shrug over a knit tank top, trimmed with chiffon ruffles. Her skirt has layers and layers of lace, sparkling tulle and crisp dupioni silk. To finish her outfit, she's wearing a strand of pink beads, and a fun pair of glittering pink boots.
Her face is a new unique sculpt--I love her blue eyes and full mouth--and she's wearing a pink wig with her hair in pony tails. So sweet!
I found mine at Sweetheart's Dolls. This is a great line for those new to BJDs and a little intimidated, since she includes everything you need right out of the box. And her price is right--retailing at just $160. See a few more full-sized photos here, on my Flickr photo stream.
