New Barbie Look collection coming in early 2015... and more!

Several new Barbie Look dolls have been added to the 2015 collection by Mattel, and as you might guess, I am very pleased to see one in particular. They will be available from dealers as well as Barbie Collector, and they are available for preorder for around $29.95 today.

I actually am borrowing these photos from Cheryl's Dolls, who has real-life photos of several of the dolls on her website. Please go check them out! They are quite cute, I think.

First, it's silver City Shine, in a one-shoulder silver dress, side glancing blue eyes with rooted lashes (yay!!), and nice heels. I'm fairly certain this is the Mackie sculpt. She carries a silver clutch, has silver chandelier earrings and a bangle, and a half-up-do.

Next, is the gorgeous brunette, black and silver City Shine doll. I think (but I'm not sure on this, as I'm really not a sculpt expert) she is an open mouth Mackie, with brown forward-glancing eyes, rooted eyelashes, and a parted bangs, with her hair long. She is wearing a sparkling (but not glittering) silver and black dress, black heels, silver clutch and dangling earrings. Again, I just love her eyelashes--and check out her real-life photo!

Next up, Mbili makes an appearance as the copper City Shine doll with gorgeous two-tone chocolate and copper hair, and brown eyes--again with rooted lashes. She's wearing a bronze cocktail dress, matching shoes, a bangle and dramatic earrings, and carries a clutch. Unfortunately, I don't see a real-life photo of this doll, but I'd love to!

My favorite, of course, is the Steffie version, the gold City Shine doll. She has lost of two-toned hair, in loose curls, brown eyes, and lovely rooted lashes. Her dress isn't my favorite, but I'll probably need to add her to my collection since she's a Steffie!

Next, there are several other dolls available, including a new ballerina, called Ballet Wishes. She is in stock now, and retails for $29.95 ($24.95 from BarbieCollector). She has the closed-mouth Mackie sculpt, new ballet arms, and even includes ribbon-tie toe shoes. The bodice of her dress is laser cut, and the fashion is removable.

A new design from Linda Kyaw is the new Birthday Wishes doll, in three variations: Hispanic (shown here), blonde, and African American. These are due spring 2015, and retail for $29.95.

New stuff from Azone... but I'm not an Alice fan anymore (Ack! Help me!)

Himeno, Osumashi Mouth
I'm seeing three new items released from Azone this morning that are actually still available for preorder from Hobby Search. In the 1:6 size, Ex Cute series, it's Himeno, only my favorite face, in two versions with a Winter 2014 release date for 11,400 yen (about $112) in two versions - her normal mouth or a straight Osumashi mouth. She's called Classic Alice Tick Tock Rabbit on the S Pure Neemo body.

Next, there's a large gorgeous 50cm girl, only wait list available from Hobby Search, for 42,750 yen (about $419), called Time of Grace Alice. She's really pretty!

New dolls from Azone from Hobby Search

Check out these new cuties from Azone, available to reserve from Hobby Search Japan. I've ordered lots of things from this company before, and they are vey reliable with great prices. Don't wait, though, as these dolls go quickly!

Above, it's Ex Cute Pureneemo Aika with a pouty mouth as 10th Best Selection Classic Alice Cheshire Cat. She's on sale for 11,400 yen (about $111.46), and as of the post, was available for reservation. She's due to ship this summer, and she's the 1:6 size.

A similar version is also available at the same price, with Aika's traditional smile.

Unfortunately, I missed out on Picco Ex Cute Neemo Himeno, who is a 1/12 size in an adorable school uniform. She's due to ship in later May, retailing for 6,460 yen (about $63.16). I have her on my waiting list. Himeno is one of my favorite faces!

Tonner Doll's Re-Imagined Scarecrow

Pending licensor approval, Tonner Doll has released its promotional photo of its new steampunk Scarecrow, Not Afraid of Anything. He's pretty cool, I think, and I'm not even a huge Wizard of Oz or (I hate to admit to being so uncool) steampunk fan.

He will produced in an edition of 500 dolls, and retail for $189.99. He uses the Matt O'Neil head sculpt and body with wigged hair.

Interestingly, I noticed that while it says he includes a sword holder, I'm noticing the resin sword is missing from the description. I'm wondering if this is a typo or a change.

Tonner's licensing agreement allows them to ship this doll (and Dorothy, now called Tornado Traveler) within the US, to Russia, the UK, France, Spain and the Netherlands. No shipping date has been announced for these dolls yet.

Vladimir Putin doll from Joe's List

Sick of the political scene? I sure am. But if you can't get enough, or if you'd like a breather from the US presidential race, this guy is a must-have for your collection. Available for pre-order now from Joe's List, this handy guy is fully posable, a mere 12", $124.99 and will be available in early November.

He comes dressed in a classic dark suit, white shirt, red power tie, and shiny black shoes with real laces. Accessories include a watch, second blue tie, podium with microphones, Russian constitution, ceremonial necklace, Russian flags, and an additional set of hands for posing.

No fishing pole, however.

You'll need to preorder by August 15, so don't delay!

New line from Tonner - Introducing Memphis

Introducing a brand new line from Tonner Doll Company, Memphis:
Memphis features a brand new, Tony winning score with music by Bon Jovi’s founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and lyrics by Bryan and Tony-winner Joe DiPietro, who also pens the musical’s book. Directed by Tony nominee Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, Memphis takes place in the smoky halls and underground clubs of the segregated 50’s, where a young white DJ named Huey fell in love with everything he shouldn’t: rock and roll and an electrifying black singer Felicia.  Memphis is an original story about the cultural revolution that erupted when his vision met her voice, and the music changed forever. Take home the Memphis Collection today!
Felicia is a dressed doll limited to 750, using a new Felicia headsculpt on Tyler body with the Spice skin tone with changeable feet. She has brown eyes and dark brown rooted hair. She wears a gold dress with embroidered bodice and a chiffon drape. She includes gold rhinetsone earrings, beaded bracelet and necklace. Her gold faux leather shoes match her dress. Suggested MSRP is $174.99.

Huey is a dressed doll limited to 750, using a new Huey head sculpt on a Matt O'Neill body in the Tyler skin tone. He has blue painted eyes and molded hair. He wears black and white pants, a multi-colored patterned shirt, black and red polka dot jacket with leopard print lining, charcoal gray hat with ribbon trim, and black shoes and socks. (His promo shot is still coming.) Suggested MSRP is $174.99.

Both dolls will be sold in a Collector's Set for $300. The dolls will ship by the end of the year.
