Finally added to my collection, it's the original 1975 Quick Curl Cara. She even still has the plastic attached to her hair and face--I want to remove it so badly, but I know I'll just end up messing up her hair.

I this Cara is one of the most beautiful dolls Mattel has ever produced. This doll comes in several outfit variations, and they are pretty hard to find in good condition--those sheer sleeves aren't real sturdy.
I'm looking to add Quick Curl Deluxe Cara to my collection as well. I'll keep you posted on my progress!

Steffie of the Day: Ballerina Cara
By
Unknown
Among my huge collection shift--a gorgeous and rather hard to find face is Cara. She is an African American version of the Steffie face, and here, she makes an appearance as Ballerina Cara (ca 1976, I believe).
These dolls were pink box playline dolls, and they have a special feature in their bodies that allows them to kick their leg forward when you swing their arm down. I think this caused some easy breakage, which may explain why these girls can be harder to find than some.
In any case--Cara is just a gorgeous doll--from her hair to her skin tone to her facial screening. She's just simply amazing. Add one to your collection if you can find one.
