The Alice Project, Day 39

Day 39 of the Alice Project: It's Harmoni, a 12-3/4" American ball-jointed doll by Berdine Creedy. She's from the Butterfly Child collection from 2008. She's dressed in Dressed Up Alice, also produced by Berdine Creedy, designed by Paulette Goodreau. Her wig is by Michele Hardy.

I love Harmoni's little face: no matter what we do for her, she remains a little pouty. She can't seem to help herself, poor little thing.

You can see the rest of her photo shoot on Flickr.

New 8" ballerina BJDs from Berdine Creedy

Available only from Berdine Creedy's online store, these adorable 8" ballerina BJD by Berdine Creedy would enhance any doll collector's collection. Two are available in limited editions of 75 pieces: Cos-Mi and Li-Lac. Both include shipping at a cost of $199, as well as the full-set doll, which includes the wig, face-up, eyes, outfit and shoes.

Lil-Lac looks to me very much like the younger sister of the adorable 10-1/2" tall Jelly-Tot, with her pouty little face. Cos-Mi looks like she could be the younger sister to Candy-Floss. So cute!

Tuesday Tea for Two

Harmoni and Uniti, originally uploaded by alington.
Harmoni, (on the left) dressed as a rather dark Alice, and Uniti, as the March Hare, are settling down for some afternoon tea.

Both girls are resin ball-jointed dolls by Berdine Creedy, and stand about 12.75" tall. Harmoni is wearing Dressed Up Alice, also by Berdine Creedy. Uniti is actually not the original Uniti doll, but a Mod Alice version, who has been repainted, re-wigged and is dressed in a combination of clothes, most of which are by Michele Hardy. Both wigs are by Monique Gold.

The tea set is by Rement, and the tray of goodies is from a Tiny Kitty Christmas hat box set by Tonner Doll Company.

This Tuesday Tea for Two post is inspired by Silk Purse of The Plumed Pen. Pop on over to her site and check out all the wonderful photos.

You can play, too--all you have to do is post a comment on her website, and let her know you'll be playing. Then, post a link back to her site on your blog entry, and she'll post a screen shot of your blog on her entry as well. If you've missed this week, you can either play next week, or Wednesday at Silken Purse, Wednesday Tea for Me and Thee.

2008 Berdine Creedy BJD just $220!

Check out these fantastic deals on Berdine Creedy resin BJDs. If you've been wanting to add these to your collection, now is the time--don't wait!

Destini, Sereniti, Uniti and Harmoni (from 2008) are all listed for just $220 each, down from $292 (their sale price). It's really a fantastic deal. Destini is the one I have with three faceplates (sleeping, serious and smiling). I just adore these dolls!

Plus, the 2009 dolls are listed at 15% off original prices. Precious and Gorgeous are only $250, including shipping. (Gorgeous has been on my wish-list for some time.) And Laughter is marked down to only $150. It's a steal to find resin BJDs for this price!

In addition, all clothing is on sale, too. Outfits originally listed for $50 are now on sale for just $30.

Modern Doll Collectors Convention Dolls on sale...

There are only a few left, but man, are they cute! Most are in a limited supply, as they are convention left-overs (from the Modern Doll Collectors Convention), so get them while you can. My top two favorites:
  • Berdine Creedy's centerpiece, High Adventurous Tea Time, and she was a limited edition of only 20 pieces, and retails for $450. She's so cute--and another 12-3/4" resin ball-jointed beauty, it appears. She really looks like the Harmoni sculpt to me, I have to admit. But her outfit is simply adorable. And she comes with a baby and a bear!
  • From Goodreau Dolls, Elyse, a groovy normal-skin vinyl doll (she's the usually green Esmeralda sculpt from the Upside Down Oz collection), a limited edition of 100 dolls, listed at $180 retail. This doll is 17" tall, and is a fully strung new-bodied BJD with flanged joints, dressed as a hippie flower child.
These dolls are sold out, but remain my honorable mentions:
  • Backstabber by Tonner Doll, who is a ReImagination Doll from Sinister Circus. Oh, I'll be having to go off my Tonner Doll hiatus for a few of these lovely Sinister ladies, I presume. She is wonderful! She retailed for $175 and was a limited edition of 100.
  • Evangeline Ghastly in An Unfortunate Life by Wilde Imagination. A vinyl ball-jointed doll, retailing for $225, she sports a lovely period costume. She has inset acrylic eyes--and half of these vinyl dolls have wigged hair, the other rooted--she appears rooted.

Lots more dolls are listed, including some hard-to-find limited editions from previous convention years. Plus, Vita is on sale, as well--dressed for $145. Go! Shop! Enjoy!

Noelle - A limited edition cutie from Berdine Creedy

I'm not sure how she escaped my radar, but this adorable wigged auburn cutie, Noelle, is here, just in time for Christmas.

She's a limited edition of 100 dolls, created exclusive for the Atlanta, Mariette, Collectors United show on November 7, 2009. She's an 8" resin BJD, and she comes dressed dressed in a  holiday outfit, ready for your holiday season.

Plus, she's the bargain price of just $165, including shipping. Get her while you can--I'm sure she won't last long!

Need I say more--mine is on her way to me as of this afternoon! She'll be my first 8" Creedy--I can hardly wait. (My oldest daughter's middle name is Noelle, spelled the same way and everything. She is so excited!)

Princess Charlene by Creedy

Princess Charlene is available now at NetCollecting.com! She is a limited edition of just 100 pieces, created exclusively for the Goodreau/Creedy convention of 2009, by Berdine Creedy. There are only a few left, so get her while you can!

She is 13-3/4" tall, a resin BJD, and the last doll in the Masquerade series. She will come to you with the gorgeous peach princess gown, Disney Mickey Mouse princess tiara and mask. She is a new face sculpt, as well. Her retail is is $295, the same as the other dolls in this series, Gorgeous and Precious.

(Mine is on her way, so you'll soon be seeing real life photos, as I did a split with a friend for a convention absentee package. Hooray!)

Fun with Creedy dolls..

Harmoni and Uniti, originally uploaded by alington.

I've redressed Harmoni (and changed her sad little eyes to brown) as Alice, and also my exclusive Mod Alice (Uniti sculpt) as the White Rabbit (well, sort of), using a combination of outfits by Michele Hardy. Both dolls are 12-3/4" resin BJDs by Berdine Creedy. I also straightened out Uniti's eyes a bit.

You may not be able to tell from these photos, but I've blushed Harmoni. And Uniti will be next, as soon as I refill my sealant supply. It's easy and fun, using pastels. I love the effect!

Tea party accessories are by Rement. I think the petit fours are a Tiny Kitty accessory, from the Christmas Hat Box gift set.

You can see more photos on Flickr, and there are larger photos posted on my Mobile Me gallery.

Alice in Disneyland from Goodreau/Creedy Convention

Oh, can you guess who is dying to add this doll to her collection, and is so sad, since she sold out?
She is the Alice in Disneyland Berdine Creedy centerpiece to one of the dinner events (maybe the closing banquet), but I'm not sure. But I have heard she is sold out.

I just think she is adorable. She's a 12-3/4" resin BJD. Just lovely and sweet. The rabbit is by Art Rogers.

Anyone who went to the event want to sell her to me? I might be willing to come up with an unwieldy sum for her... ;)

The Hardy Girls

The Hardy Girls, originally uploaded by alington.

My Michele Hardy collection on display together: I bought most outfits individually, one on a complete doll. Some of the wigs are by Michelle as well. From the back to the front:

  • Peak's Woods Sky with white skin (wig also by Michele) - her shepherdess outfit was inspired by Alice in Wonderland
  • Goodreau Whisper (in Roxie wig by Monique Gold) in an Alice in Wonderland outfit
And the front row of Berdine Creedy girls:
  • Mod Alice (Uniti sculpt) - outfit and wig by Michele
  • Destini (with smiling faceplate and stock JRock wig by Monique Gold) - shepherdess outfit by Michele
  • Harmoni (wig by Michele) - exclusive set Precious in Pink to Sweetheart's Dolls

Mod Alice

Mod Alice, originally uploaded by alington.

Super sweet and adorable, my latest Alice makes her grand entrance. Mod Alice, by Berdine Creedy, is a Uniti sculpt. She is a limited edition of only 10 dolls, available as an exclusive from Wishes and Dreams. Apparently, she sold out before she even arrived at the store. I found her on Ebay--but that's an entirely different story!

I was very fortunate. Suffice it to say: the kids now have their own log-in to my computer, so they can't mess around with my address book! Thankfully, both the seller and the innocent bystander who accidentally received my doll were very understanding and nice about the whole incident. In fact, you should definitely check out the seller's current listings. She's awesome--the doll was exactly as described, and she shipped amazingly fast.

So back to Alice: she's dressed in a Michele Hardy outfit--a blue floral printed dress with white eyelet trimming the sleeves, and a white eyelet pinafore. Plus she has white eyelet bloomers, a pink tulle petticoat, pink striped socks and pink mary janes. A heart charm necklace and pink fur wig finish her look. She includes the white rabbit as an adorable accessory.

You can see a few more photos on Flickr or larger versions and the full shoot on Mobile Me. Enjoy!

Harmoni in Going Green

Harmoni in Going Green, originally uploaded by alington.
Here are a few more photos of Harmoni, a Butterfly Child BJD by Berdine Creedy. She dressed her in her original outfit, Going Green, and wearing one of her two original wigs, Hannah in bleach blonde and lime green (by Monique Gold).

These photos are the first photos I have taken of my dolls outside in our backyard, but they definitely won't be my last. I have decided I love outdoor photos of dolls--they have great light, and they are lots of fun. But I have to admit I was a little afraid the resin doll would fall over on the concrete and either chip or scratch--neither of which happened.

You can see a few more photos of Harmoni on Flickr or see the full photo shoot with larger photos on my Mobile Me gallery.

Harmoni in Pink

Harmoni in Pink, originally uploaded by alington.

My newest Berdine Creedy doll has arrived, Harmoni. She's actually from the 2008 Butterfly Child collection, a 12-3/4" resin ball-jointed doll, which I got on a great sale from Sweetheart's Dolls. This size is just so perfect for play and photography--easy to dress, fun to pose.

This is not her original outfit, though I do plan to photograph that soon as well. Harmoni is shown here in an exclusive outfit for Sweetheart's Dolls by Michele Hardy called Precious in Pink. It just suited her too well not to snap a few photos. You can see a few of them on Flickr or the full photoshoot on Mobile Me.

Harmoni includes two wigs (a blonde bob with lime green highlights and a black longer wig with bangs), and two pairs of eyes (these green ones and a pair of brown eyes), plus the outfit Going Green, a harlequin style fun suit designed by Paulette Goodreau, with a matching teddy bear and black and green back-zip boots.

I just love this doll for her pouty little expression. She just does not look thrilled. I see this look on a daily basis from my two girls at home (and sometimes from my boys), so she's as close to my own kids as I could get. She's just adorable! And again, very photogenic.

Destini as Alice

Here is Destini again, this time dressed as Alice in Wonderland. I just love this little girl! She's so much fun.
The outfit is also a Berdine Creedy outfit. Destini is a 12-3/4" Butterfly Child by Berdine Creedy, a resin BJD, who includes three faceplates. This one is her smiling faceplate.

This outfit is very nicely made. It includes lots of pieces: the blue dress, an apron, the white pantaloons, a pair of striped stockings, black shoes with white accents, and a rabbit headpiece.

The dress has lots of little details, including little chiffon ruffles at the collar, sleeves and hem. And the apron has some bunny appliqués on the front, as well as some tiny buttons for trim. All pieces close with clear snaps, which is convenient when dressing your resin dolls.

I bought the outfit (and the doll) from Sweetheart's Dolls, and the price was very reasonable.

Why I adore BJDs...

One of the things I adore about Destini, my 12-3/4" Berdine Creedy BJD, is how customizable and versatile she is. I just received the limited edition "Precious in Pink" outfit by Michele Hardy from Sweetheart's Dolls today, which includes a lambswool wig, and see how this changes the pouting schoolgirl into a fairy or sprite.
I love this little doll. She's a lot of fun. I think I will need to add another resin friend to my collection, but I can't decide which sculpt! I like Uniti and Harmoni--though Uniti is hard to find, and Harmoni's outfit isn't my favorite. I have Dressed Up Alice outfit the next girl could wear.

I'll need to wait till after June--I have a bunch of pre-orders shipping then--and see what abysmal shape my doll budget is in. But I'm afraid the Creedy dolls will all be sold out by then. I hope not. I have heard this size is on its way out, which is really too bad.

I also like both the new toddlers, Hugs and Kisses. Since they aren't being released until July, I'm sure I'd have time to order one of them instead. If only I could figure out a way to get paid for collecting dolls. Or get paid to do anything. If only being a mother was a valued commodity, I'd be set for life! One can dream, I suppose.

While you're visiting my site--click on some ads if they look interesting! Help support my site! Thanks!

Destini Repainted by Michele Hardy

I recently sent Destini's serious faceplate off for a repaint service by artist Michele Hardy. She did, if I may say so, a fantastic job--exactly what I had in mind. She sent me photos and charged a very reasonable price. I highly recommend her service--there is no reason at all why you couldn't send your doll to her for a face-up (original or make-over), as well. Contact her at her website for face-ups, and check out lots of other great items, like one-of-a-kind outfits, wigs and more!
Destini is a limited edition of 150 dolls by Berdine Creedy. She's very unique, in that she includes three different faceplates: a smiling one, the serious one (shown here, repainted by Michele), and a sleeping faceplate. She also includes two sets of eyes, two wigs (but I'm showing her in another Monique wig), and the Comfi in Check outfit, also. I just love how versatile this doll is.

I do have to admit, however, as my daughter pointed out, that with her serious face on, and the way her eyes are set, Destini does look like she's on the pout. I think we're familiar with this face around here. I love it!

You can see other photoshoots of this doll in my Flickr gallery, including real-life photos of her sleeping faceplate and her smiling faceplate. Also, check out the rest of her serious photoshoot in my Mobile Me Gallery.

Destini Asleep

Destini Asleep, originally uploaded by alington.

Another photo shoot of Destini, my Berdine Creedy doll, who is just simply craving a friend. She's found one here, in Innuendo, my vinyl Goodreau doll (16"), dressed in Gothic Lolita wearing a Snow Kai wig.

Destini is sporting her red wig and sleeping faceplate in these photos, which my two daughters (ages eight and five) simply adore. They were thrilled to get up this morning and see Destini had gone to bed last night, too. She's so sweet.

Check out the rest of her photo shoot on my Flickr account.

Destini

Destini, originally uploaded by tac_stamper.

My very first Berdine Creedy doll has arrived from Sweetheart's Dolls (Thanks, Carolyn!)., Destini. I'm smitten!

This little resin girl stands own her own easily at 12.75" tall. She includes three interchangeable face plates--she's smiling here. She also has a serious face plate--for which I have a top secret plan--and a sleeping face plate. The plates are delicately painted and have real eyelashes.

She also includes two sets of eyes (since you don't need eyes for the sleeping plate!), and I got turquoise and hazel. I put in this hazel pair side-glancing, which was harder than it looks, but it came out cute.

In addition, she comes with two wigs--this one, and also a slightly shorter red wig. I had a really hard time getting the wig on--she needs a wig cap (I do a cool glue gun wig cap technique, or a thin coat of Aileen's Tack It Over and Over), and I think that would fix the problem.

Destini's outfit consists of: panties, two pairs of stockings (red or white), shoes (they zip, for easy wear), red t-shirt, plaid pleated skirt and zip hoodie. See the rest of her photo shoot (in my blue family room) on my Flickr album. She's a cute little thing! (Certainly will not be my last Creedy...)
