Last day to bid on latest charity auctions

Magnificent Monogram, originally uploaded by alington.
Don't forget! Today is the last day to bid on our latest charity auctions on eBay. The bids are still pretty low, so don't miss your chance to support the Fashion Doll Review.

Also, 25% of the winning bids will be donated to the Red Cross, so you can shop and feel good about shopping for dolls, too.

The remainder of the auctions will be committed to our next project--with details forthcoming soon! Thanks for your support!

Three more auctions listed!

Thanks so much for participating in our first charity auction! We raised $76.25 from our first doll auction.

It worked so well that I wanted to add a few more dolls to the list. This is a link to them. This is a short three-day auction, too:

These auctions have Buy-It-Now prices on them, too--but their starting prices are reasonable, too--especially the mod girls.

Hope you're enjoying your Friday!

Don't forget! FDR Charity auction closes today!

Don't forget! The Fashion Doll Review's first charity auction closes today, in about an hour and a half, at  9:15 AM PDT.

The current bid is at $127.50, which is still less than a regular, non-customized doll has recently sold for (on April 9, at least).

And don't forget--half of your winning bid will be donated to the American Red Cross. Thanks so much for looking and your support!

Happy 300 fans on Facebook to us, and to you!

Happy 300+ fans for the Fashion Doll Review on our Facebook fan page!

In celebration (and also in honor of Mother's day--happy Mother's day to all of you mothers out there), I'm pleased to offer a one-of-a-kind Tonner Doll for a charity auction.

This is Takes the Cake, a 2010 Tonner Collectors' Convention doll, with the Duchess sculpt (her first use) on an Antoinette body. You can read all about her in this eBay listing. She is wearing a one-of-a-kind outfit, made by me, and is now available for auction.

She comes from a 100% smoke free environment, though I do have cats. (They have stayed away from this doll, however, as she has some feathers and beading attached to her outfit--and my cats are untrustworthy when it comes to feathers and beads!)

Fifty percent of her proceeds (by which I mean, 50% off the winning bid total) will be donated to the American Red Cross, and the remaining will be used to cover fees here at the Fashion Doll Review, and possibly a new project we have coming up.

Check out her auction, and bid, if you're inclined. No reserve, and her original listing price was only $9.95. The auction closes Sunday next week. If by chance, you are in a country that is not allowed to bid on eBay, and you'd like a chance to win this doll, drop me a line or a comment via Flickr. Thanks!

OOAK and exclusive dolls I missed from Tonner

I was browsing around on Tonner's website yesterday, and I came across a couple of exclusive and one-of-a-kind fashion dolls that were created for charity events that I apparently missed earlier this year. Here they are:

  • A Paris Fashion Show exclusive, Elegance Antoinette. She was a limited edition of just 25 dolls for this event, and appears to be a fashion-forward nod to the 1940s.
  • La Cage, a one-of-a-kind auction doll. She was created to benefit Broadway Cares (an AIDS charity). She is actually a Simon sculpt with a full female bodysuit under her gown.
  • Lutece, a one-of-a-kind Sydney. She was also created as an auction doll, this one to benefit the REVE Charity at the 2010 Paris Fashion Doll Festival.

2010 MetroDolls Garden Party

MetroDolls is having a Garden Party event on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 10 AM - 4 PM, at the Hilton Woodbridge in Iselin, NJ. The cost to attend is $210, and absentee packages may be available. For more information and to register for the event, visit the MetroDolls website.

There will also be a live charity auction, featuring many one-of-a-kind fashion dolls and ball-jointed dolls from many talented artists, which will benefit the Susan G. Koman for the Cure Central and South Jersey.

The event doll is an exclusive Sydney Chase (and they have been fantastic in the past), plus additional MetroDolls items. You can see some past souvenir dolls here, and they still have some available to order.

OOAK auction event to be held at Tyler's 10th Anniversary

I found a post on Tonner's Facebook page this morning, stating that an auction would be held at Tyler's 10th Anniversary on November 7, 2009.

All proceeds from this auction will benefit employee Carol Dwyer, who is battling breast cancer. These additional items will be auctioned off at the event. One more special one-of-a-kind prototype doll will still be announced.

The dolls up for auctions are three never produced prototypes:

  • Wicked Witch A Most Gratifying Day (perfect for you Oz fans)
  • Pirate Lord (for the pirates among you)
  • Pirate God (for our Johnny Depp fans)

The Royal Mermaid Mera prototype is still live on Ebay. Still with one more day to go, this auction is up to $997.26. Wow! That's fantastic!

Royal Mermaid prototype doll by Tonner on Ebay

This Tonner Doll auction is current on Ebay, and all proceeds of the auction will go directly to Friends of Carol Dwyer to help with her fight against breast cancer. (Carol is an employee at Tonner Doll.)

This doll is a prototype that was never produced. She is the Mera headsculpt, and she wears a micro-sequined body suit with a silk chiffon cape, embellished with hand-beading at the neck. She also includes a a belt with scalloped shells, a crown, detachable fins, and gold high heels.

As of this post, the current bid is $400.

People-sized Tonner Items for sale on Ebay

Tonner Doll Company has five outfits listed on Ebay right now -- these are full-sized items (well, if you count size 2-4 (5'10") a real person size, LOL!). The profits of these sales will benefit A Friend's House Charity in Bluffton, IN. Read all about it in the individual auction listings.
The outfits listed are:
  • Holiday Gala
  • Very Valentine
  • Absolutely Aspen
  • Black and White Ball (I love this one!)
  • Florentine
I personally think it would be awfully neat to own one of these, along with the original Tyler doll. (Or is it just me?)
