Obsessed Antoinette

Obsessed Antoinette, originally uploaded by alington.
Obsessed, my latest Antoinette by Tonner Doll Company, arrived last week. She's my favorite Antoinette so far.

She's wearing a gorgeous blue and gold brocade couture gown, off-the-shoulder with an empire waist and an asymmetric bubble skirt hem and attached cape. Her jewelry includes a multiple strand pearl necklace, and two pearl bracelets. She also is wearing strappy gold heels with several buckles. Her tights match perfectly--blue with gold sparkles. Her complex partial up-do is a honey-colored blonde, in spiral curls with pink silk floral trimming. She also is wearing a permanently attached blue veil. She has a very neutral face-up, which I like, and she actually does have eyelashes.
Her complete look, while technically a couture look, has an historical inspiration. It has a Regency-inspired feel--think late Jane Austen novel. Not an exact copy (especially not with the gown's bubble hem), but more along the line of its empire waistline, silhouette, and the doll's expression and hair. Antoinette can totally carry this off, I think.

You can see a few more photos on my Flickr account, or you can see the full photo shoot on Mobile Me.
Enjoy? Let me know what you think. Would you like to see other historically inspired couture gowns from Tonner? I would. I think this one is a fabulous success.
