Made by Estrela, a company licensed by Mattel in Brazil, this is Rock Star Lia. She has a box date of 1989, and she uses the Steffie face sculpt.
Estrela dolls are particularly special, and fairly hard to find, because they are produced in small numbers. Their plastic feels a little different than other dolls of this era--and you can see, Lia has articulated wrists. My doll's face has darkened a little more than her body.
I think she reminds me of Jem, of Jem and the Holograms. She includes a microphone and guitar, as well as a star-shaped doll stand.

One of my all time fave Barbie dolls. I actually love all estrella dolls. I only wish they weren't so expensive.
