Joyous Celebration Poppy Parker

Joyous Celebration

For her fifth anniversary, Integrity Toys offered an exclusive Poppy Parker to W Club members, called Joyous Celebration. She's quite lovely.

She has facial screening similar to the ultra limited edition Bergdorf Goodman Poppy, and her hair styled in a neat, easy to maintain braided up-do.

Her gown is inspired by a vintage Francie outfit--DS-2240 Ballgown, only Poppy's has a pink underskirt (rather than orange), and the shoulders of her gown are styled different. She's a lovely doll.

I believe this doll was offered to every W Club member, so I'm not sure of her edition size. I bet I could find it on her certificate of authenticity--if only I could find her box!

Fashion Explorer Vanessa, restyled

Fashion Explorer Vanessa

I've decided to take down Fashion Explorer Vanessa Perrin's hair--it was in a wrapped ponytail, also quite pretty. But I like her even more with her hair down, it turns out. I think I may straighten it a little as well in the future.

Here, she is dressed in several pieces from Vivid Impact Agnes' fashion, Polished Korinne's necklace (I think), and a belt from another FR2 fashion.

This doll was one of the upgrade dolls offered by the W Club this year.

W Club exclusive Poppy Parker Doll has been announced

Integrity Toys has announced the second official W Club doll of 2014: Joyous Anniversary Poppy Parker. She is subtitled, Poppy Parker™ Fifth Anniversary Souvenir Doll, and retails for $120. She is available for preorder for W Club members only (one per member), and per club policy, pre-sales are not allowed. Her edition size is therefore not yet known.

She's estimated to ship in the fall of this year.

Her lovely gold brocade gown with pink petticoat is truly a nod to the 1960s fashion Poppy has come to represent. Her fashion is apparently inspired by a vintage Japanese Francie fashion, DS-2240, Ball Gown, from 1967, which was sold only on the Japanese market. (Thanks to Micheal Jarvis, for passing this info along, and saving me a lot of searching!)

Interestingly, I just did a post on dressing Poppy in vintage Francie fashions, and I think this doll is gorgeous! I'm thrilled to see this variation on a lovely fashion, made especially for Poppy.
Vintage Francie fashion, Japanese exclusive, DS-2240, Ball Gown 1967 from Dollreference.com
Differences between Francie's fashion and Poppy's are:
  • Francie's has an orange taffeta under layer, versus Poppy's pink tulle petticoat.
  • The bodice of Francie's dress has a halter top snap closure. Poppy's is a sophisticated, off-the-shoulder design, which gives hers a more sophisticated feel.
  • Francie's fashion includes a string of pearls, and Poppy doesn't wear neck jewelry.
  • Francie's fashion doesn't include earrings; Poppy wears significant rhinestone earrings, plus a matching bracelet.
  • Francie's gloves are short white tricot versus Poppy's opera-length gloves.
  • Francie's shoes and clutch are white versus Poppy's choice of pink.

This lovely doll uses the FR White skin town with applied lashes and beautiful grey eyes. She has a brunette braided updo, which I happen to like very much. (IT really can pull off these kind of braided updos without a hitch, and I am sure it will look neat and clean.) While not officially stated, I believe her facial screening is reminiscent of the ever-popular Bergdorf Poppy, and it's gorgeous and sophisticated.

Accessories are cute--matching pink kitten heels with bows, a pink clutch, rhinestone drop earrings and matching bracelet, and long white gloves. I'm sure she's going to be a hit with collectors!

Photos are property of Integrity Toys, aside from the vintage Francie fashion photo, which is borrowed from DollReference.

Macaw - exclusive Antoinette on sale

Tonner Doll's FAO exclusive doll, Macaw, is on a terrific sale (save 40% off the original retail price!) at Toys R Us. If you love the Antoinette body and the Flights of Fancy convention from 2012 was your look, this doll belongs in your collection.

Her sale price is $134.98 (down from originally $224.99) with free 2-day shipping from Toys R Us. You can hardly pass her up!

She uses the Antoinette head and body with light brown painted eyes, and rooted red hair. She includes a red dress with red, blue, blue, green and yellow ruffled cape, and includes blue beaded earrings. She also includes yellow and blue hair decoration, and silver platform shoes. She was limited to only 100 dolls, which is a pretty low edition size!

If you want to save even more, you can go through Ebates and receive 2% cash back from your purchase. When you sign up through my link, I get a bonus, if you haven't used Ebates before (you do, too, when you sign people up!). I think you also get a $5 bonus just for signing up--active with your first purchase. And every little bit adds up! Currently, my lifetime cash back is at $222.18--however, that does include my rather excessive Ulta and Sephora obsession!

High Visibility Agnes Von Weiss - W Club exclusive event doll

The W Club exclusive event doll is available for all W Club members, only through May 21. High Visibility Agness Von Weiss retails at $135 for this mini gift set. She will be shipped in the late summer 2013, and as all members are given an opportunity to order her, the edition size is not yet known.

Agnes appears on the new FR body with the Japan skin tone, rooted strawberry hair, and blue eyes with applied lashes. Her outfit includes a two-piece jacquard suit (the bustier laces up in the back), a faux-sued biker-inspired top, long mermaid skirt, and a pair of white strappy sandals and a pair of black sexy heels. Accessories include a straw hat, sunglasses, a large purse, hoop earrings, and three bracelets.

I love the versatility of this outfit, and that the pieces correspond with this year's safari-inspired FR collection. I have my own on order, and I bet she'll be popular.

Growing and growing

Secret Wonderland Miu - the Azone store exclusive - has arrived. And I've discovered an absolutely love of fantasy hair on these Pure Neemo cuties! They are so sweet!

Of course, they tend to be the limited edition ones--as if they aren't already hard enough to find, LOL--I have to like the limited store exclusive versions best. I wonder if I can find someone to reroot these girls for me... that might be another option!

Integrity Toys W Club exclusive: Victoire Roux Evening in Montreal

The first right-to-purchase W Club exclusive lottery doll of 2014 is here (for W Club member only), and it's a gorgeous platinum Victoire Roux called Evening in Montreal.

She's limited to 600, and was offered to members after the first Integrity Toys preview on February 12. She retails for $99 plus shipping and handling, and she will ship in the third week of this month.

She uses the FR white skin tone, has blue eyes and rooted platinum hair and applied lashes. She wears a strapless brown gown with brown net overlay in her tradition 1950s style. She includes matching faux leather gloves, a faux fur shrug, and gold open toe pumps, a hair comb, rhinestone drop earrings and pin.

I think she's one of the prettiest Victoire dolls offered yet!

Forever Yours Ashleigh

Forever Yours Ashleigh by alington
Forever Yours Ashleigh, a photo by alington on Flickr.
I don't really collect brides, but I do love Ashleigh, who is an exclusive to Two Daydreamers. And this girl (Tonner Doll) is amazing! Even prettier than her promos. She's limited to only 100.

Her sash is light gray, though be very, very careful with her shoes. They are very delicate. See additional photos on Flickr, and they are all dedicated to my friend Tracy.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting as much lately. Life, you know.

I should warn you, however, that several spring releases for both Tonner Doll and Integrity Toys are fast approaching! And don't you all miss IDEX? I sure do!

Two Daydreamers Tonner Doll exclusive: Forever Yours Ashleigh

Just in time for the holidays, Forever Yours Ashleigh would make a perfect gift for your doll-collecting friend or honey. This gorgeous Tonner Doll exclusive is limited to just 100, and is available only through Two Daydreamers. She's available to preorder now, and will ship in early December.

She comes dressed in a lovely draped white taffeta bridal gown, trimmed with an elegant gray bow at the waist. I really love the shape of the mermaid skirt, and the tulle at the bottom. The dress is trimmed with silk flowers, and she includes opera length gloves, stripy sandals, and faux diamond stud earrings.

I usually am not taken with bridal dolls, but wow. Ashleigh totally pulls it off. (She's a Two Daydreamers exclusive sculpt--and we haven't seen a holiday exclusive for a while. My prediction is that she will sell out.)

Also, I just saw the description says: she is "the 1st in the classically romantic Bridal Series." Wow. Eeek!

Iris as The Toucan

Iris as The Toucan by alington
Iris as The Toucan, a photo by alington on Flickr.
I'm trying to take farewell photos of my dolls just before they travel. This is Garden Party Iris, who has just found a new home.

She's dressed in The Toucan's outfit, a centerpiece doll from the 2012 Flights of Fancy convention. I think she wears the outfit quite well.

You can see additional photos on Flickr.

Fashion Icon

Fashion Icon by alington
Fashion Icon, a photo by alington on Flickr.
One of the 2013 Metrodolls luncheon, Style Evolution, event dolls is Fashion Icon by Tonner Doll. She is a limited edition of 125, and is a gorgeous auburn (wigged) Daphne. Her makeup is elegant, and accents her grey eyes perfectly. (I'm not usually a fan of red lips, but I adore this girl!)

In addition to a gorgeous spaghetti strap satin and chiffon cocktail dress, she comes dressed in a vintage overdress with asymmetrical snaps down the front. Accessories include rhinestone studs and black peep-toe pumps.

You can see additional photos in my Flickr photostream.

If you like this doll, you may still be able to purchase one from Metrodolls directly for $200 plus shipping. There is also a souvenir Ellowyne, Metro Girl, available. She's limited to 250. I didn't add her to my collection.

Be sure to check out all the fantastic fashions available, too.

Ashleigh in New York Night

Ultimate Glamour BJD Ashleigh (a Two Daydreamers exclusive) is dressed in New York Night Cami's fashion, and her own shoes and hose. The wig is mohair, and belongs to one of my BJDs. I think it originally came from Peak's Woods.

She has tan skin, platinum hair and green eyes. She includes a black shawl-collar faux leather top with red belt, black skirt and fishnets. She also includes a beige purse, beige and black spectator pumps, rose necklace and earrings.

The Young Sophisticate Poppy Parker - first W Club exclusive

The first W Club exclusive was announced last week, and it's a lovely Poppy Parker doll. She includes her new pet, Petunia. (I'm hoping to see a kitty addition to her family, too.)

Her names is The Young Sophisticate, and she retails for $119, with an estimated delivery date of late summer 2013. All W Club members are given the opportunity to purchase this doll with their membership--she is the first of five exclusives for the year.

She has lovely blonde hair pulled back from her face--and I love her giant curls. I hope the real-life doll looks as cute as the promotional photos. Her facial screening is neutral with cat eye-style liner, and she has brown side-glancing eyes--probably Poppy's best look--applied lashes, and pink lips.

I really like her outfit--it's a yellow textured dress with a black belt, pink coat, black stockings and black pumps with bows. Additionally, her accessories are wonderful: a black and white striped tote with pink accents and buckles (really done IT style), black sunglasses, oversized black stud earrings and a black ring. Her dog Petunia has a bow on her head and a collar with buckle and a tag.

Her outfit is surprisingly modern for Poppy--I think she will be a hit with collectors who love the 1960s era and contemporary style.

W Club exclusive doll - Let's Kiss And Make Up

The first W Club lottery was announced at the unveiling. She's from the Funny Face collection which was revealed Saturday, and is a limited edition of 400 dolls. Her retail is $199, and she is scheduled to ship the week of February 11.

Let's Kiss And Make Up uses the closed mouth Vanessa Perrin sculpt, who is playing the role of Jo Stockton, and three outfits are included. (I think this doll is on the Poppy Parker body.) The first, shown above, is a gorgeous brown suit, faux mink coat, bouquet of roses, hat, gloves, a wicker-looking bag, pumps and gloves. She is also carrying a cute little furry dog.

The second outfit is a cream colored suit with a matching hat and gloves, coordinating pumps, and a cute little umbrella--a prop only, this accessory does not open.

The final outfit in the gift set lovely custom printed cotton dress, sunhat with floral trim, pale yellow gloves and matching pumps.

Above you can see a closer look at her accessories. I think this set is pretty darn cute.

Monster High Gloom Beach exclusive at Target

I was at Target yesterday, and I happened across a new-to-me Monster High exclusive set. It features five dolls, dressed in Gloom Beach selection, and includes three exclusive dolls.

It includes Ghoulia Yelps, Frankie Stein, a really gorgeous Cleo De Nile (I'm not usually a fan of Cleo's, but I love this version), Clawdeen Wolf, and Draculaura.

What I love about this set is that you can see all the different skin tones and a rainbow of hair color and outfits. It's really cute.

The retail cost is $54.99.

You can see more photos of this set, including close-ups, at Target.com, which is where I snagged the above photo. Currently, it's out of stock--however, you can check to see if it's in a store near you.

Brazilian Banana Bonanza Barbie by Bob Mackie

Bob Mackie's latest addition to the Barbie family has been announced - $150 retail with a Nove, ber 15, 2012 release date: Brazilian Banana Bonanza Barbie.

Interestingly, she was designed by Robert Best for the Bob Mackie collection, unless this is a typo. She's a Gold Label collector doll, and she's quite cute. I saw a real-life version of her at the National Barbie Collectors Convention, and she's pretty impressive.

She's a Barbie Collector direct exclusive, and you can see additional photos on BarbieCollector.com.

IT: Poppy Parker Luncheon

For me, the most highly anticipated event was the Poppy Parker luncheon. Sea Breeze Poppy Parker is the centerpiece doll, and she features a lovely open shirtdress with seahorse-printed capris, sorbet jewelry, a straw hat, and wedges.

Each guest was treated to a pack of vinyl inflatable pool furniture as well.

Lots of news was announced at this event--including the introduction of a new friend and broadway actress/singer for Poppy, Loni Lawrence. Lemon Crush Loni Lawrence was a gift doll for each attendee. (She uses the Holly Golightly sculpt.)

Designer David Buttry gave away a few secrets for next year's Poppy Parker line. It is inspired by the 1964 New York World's Fair! From what I could tell, these are structured fashions with navy, red, white and yellow.
