Joyous Celebration Poppy Parker
By
Unknown
For her fifth anniversary, Integrity Toys offered an exclusive Poppy Parker to W Club members, called Joyous Celebration. She's quite lovely.
She has facial screening similar to the ultra limited edition Bergdorf Goodman Poppy, and her hair styled in a neat, easy to maintain braided up-do.
Her gown is inspired by a vintage Francie outfit--DS-2240 Ballgown, only Poppy's has a pink underskirt (rather than orange), and the shoulders of her gown are styled different. She's a lovely doll.
I believe this doll was offered to every W Club member, so I'm not sure of her edition size. I bet I could find it on her certificate of authenticity--if only I could find her box!

I'm on the fence about her. She does have an attractive face, and I like the intricate updo. The "pull hair straight back from the face tightly" style isn't to my general liking, though. The dress has a luxe feeling, but showing so much taffeta in an asymmetrical way takes away from it a bit. The neckline adds so much interest, and the jewelry is great; I would have liked to see a ring (Integrity doesn't seem to use them often). Overall, a nice doll.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about the ring thing--I think it's one of the accessories Integrity does best, and yet not enough.
DeleteHer hair, while it maintains its neatness, does lack a bit of something, I'd have to agree. To me, the giant braid is a bit out of proportion or something.
The underskirt is actually pleated tulle, rather than taffeta. (The Francie fashion uses taffeta, I think--and in orange.) I think it's a little funny that in my full-length photo, it looks as though Poppy has matched her lip color to the underskirt. But in real life, her lips are a much softer shade. :)
