Eeek--My next wish list item!

Oh dear, I've been spending too much time surfing the web. I found another item for my wishlist. It's from Dolkot, who has mixed reviews, according to Den of Angels. (You may need to have an account at Den of Angels to read the feedback, but it's definitely worthwhile to sign up!)
At any rate, Peya is a cute little 16cm (6-1/2") tall resin BJD called a Hand Fairy. She's just adorable. What's getting me is that I've seen photos of SD-sized dolls holding this one, and she looks like she's the right size for a BJD for an SD-sized doll. She can stand on her own, of course, and has a slim, mature body sculpt with elbow and wrist joints, as well as rotating hips, ankles and knee joints as well.

Her retail price is $198, and includes default clothes, box, wig, and eyes but you can add a face-up for $25, and extra eyes for $12, and body blushing for $30. Additionally, there are two full-sets available:

Alice in Wonderland at Dollmore

Korean ball-jointed doll maker Dollmore carries a few wonderful Alice in Wonderland-themed items I had to share with you, dear reader, which I found in my daily browsing.
  • Where are you going, Alice? Outfit sized for MSD dolls (43.5 cm or 17 inches). This outfit includes a small crown, dress, petticoat, bloomers, and striped socks. Shoes are available separately. (I have read on Den of Angels that Dollmore dolls are very slim compared to other similarly sized BJDs, but I'm not sure MSD dolls are included in this description.) $44.00
  • Where are you going, Alice? Outfit sized for Banji dolls. Similar outfit sized for Banji sized dolls (5.7 inches or 14.5 cm). $33.00
  • I am a secret Alice Aro LE30 I Doll. This full-set 21.5 cm (8.5 inch) BJD includes face-up, 2 kinds of hands, 12mm acrylic eyes, wig, complete Alice outfit and box. $296.00

Sensual in Frivolous

Sensual in Frivolous, originally uploaded by alington.

This is Sensual Antoinette, who has been redressed in the outfit Frivolous. Both the doll (I bought her nude as a split from Dreamcastle) and the outfit are from the 2009 Tonner Doll line.

The outfit is 1920s flapper inspired, I think, though it isn't really historical. The outfit also includes a pair of black tights, which aren't shown here--they seemed to detract from her lovely pale skin tone.

Sensual poses nicely. Her body feels quite different from the other Antoinette dolls I own--lighter weight, it seems, in addition to its lighter skin tone (cameo). I have to admit that when I initially took her out of the box, I didn't like her. I was disappointed that she didn't have eyelashes, and something about her didn't agree with me. After her first photo shoot, however, she really seems to be growing on me.

You can see lots more photos in my Mobile Me gallery. Enjoy!

New Sybarite Haute Doll Exclusive: The Cross

Coming soon, and available for pre-order at 10 AM on September 9, 2009, The Cross is the latest and greatest exclusive Sybarite exclusive doll to Haute Doll magazine. Available at this point only to subscribers, her retail price and expected ship date is not yet available. But she is a limited edition of 150. And buyers will also have the opportunity to purchase the Innoquii or Raja doll for just $100 with the Cross.

Cross comes dressed in a sheer black mesh top, covering her hands in fine black lace. According to the promo ad, she'll have polka dot stockings, with custom printed stiletto closed-toe heels, a dramatic black feathered head piece, a gilt cross studded with faux diamonds, and a black and white polka dot bow.

Her gown will be vivid colors of pink, red, yellow combined with black, lined with a red silk, with a delicate overlay of lace with delicate red embroidery. The lace pattern should have a Victorian feel, with hot pink and bright red beading.

The raven-haired doll will have a softer face-up with red and fuchsia eye shadow, which highlights her sky grey eyes.
