BNB Dolls at the KBJD Show

BNB Dolls was a new company to me, introduced at the Korean BJD Show in LA this past weekend. They had some great deals on clothing. The outfits above were sold for about $50-65 per set.

The owner, Nornan, did a fantastic face-up class and demonstration. The "basic" make-up was really amazing. It takes her three hours to complete a basic style make-up for her boys--when she is simply copying a pretty basic style. For OOAK looks, or when she is creating a new make-up style, it can be up to a week to get the look just right!

As far as that goes, after watching her amazing technique, I'll continue paying the bargain price of $40-80 per face. I had no idea it took so much time!

Cosmo, Segi and Dandy: New Dandy boy from Peak's Woods!

The Dandy boy from Peak's Woods has made his debut! He is adorable! There are three sculpts here: Dandy (he looks like a modified boy version of Bella the moon), Segi (as a boy), and Cosmo, who is a new sculpt. Guess whose coming to dinner?

Ximilu by Xaga Doll

Love Pure Neemo? If you do, then you should consider the Red Obsidian line from Xaga Doll. I picked up one of these cuties (this girl is called Ximilu) from Mint on Card.

Also check out HDS (Hong Dou Sha), Ximigo, and also Miki or Kimi. There are two body sizes--with small breasts or giant gum balls, which Ximilu has. (The Green Obsidian body is a different size altogether, and closer to child proportions. They also carry a the Type A Red Obsidian body, similar to mature mini woman proportions, which is much less stylized than this body.)

This size, even with the gum ball boobs, can wear Azone clothing for Pure Neemo, as seen here. You can see more photos on Flickr as well. She's wearing a Licht wig, YoSD shoes, and some limited edition magnetic kitty ears as well.

... is worth two in the box?

This is a brand new size for Peak's Woods, one of their Monthly Fairy dolls, February's birth month, Moonie. She is only 10 cm tall (that's almost 4 inches). She's dressed in an Amelia Thimble fashion, which is a near perfect fit.

These dolls are articulated now, which is super cool, and very cute. I have several on the older style body, which were only articulated at the neck. But I plan to do head swaps, so I can have different expressions.

She's so cute and tiny. Their face-ups are so amazing. Of course, Peak's Woods quality is obvious even in the tiny size--she can stand on her own, right out of the box, and pose her little arms and hands. They stay right where you put them.

Honestly, I'd love to have all twelve in my collection! So cute.

Yeru the Soul, re-bodied

Yeru the Soul head (SD) on Fairy of Bug (MSD) Lady Bee's body, both by Peak's Woods.

I happened to read on the Peak's Woods post at Den of Angels this morning of a BJD collector who would like to order a Briana head sculpt, which is an SD-size doll, and would like to put her on a smaller, MSD-sized body. At first, I have to say I thought that would look strange, as Peak's Woods girls have such huge heads to begin with.

However, as I'm recently a recipient of my first Pullip and today, my first Blythe doll, I thought I'd give it a try and post a photo or two. I have to admit--it's a fabulous idea! It gives the doll a completely different look, similar to Leekeworld Florence, a BJD I have been resisting for quite some time. Plus, it also gave me an excuse to take photos of Yeru the Soul, who is a wake-up version of Yeru, yet has a completely different feel.

At any rate, I'm in love. Now, I think I need a different body for her, and I'm noticing Peak's Woods only sells the boy body online. But I might email them and ask if they might consider making a girl body for me. I'd prefer a large bust version, I think.

For the fun of it, I'll post a larger photo of Yeru here, too, so you can see her lovely face-up. Isn't she adorable?

New basic doll Ramie by Dollmore

Eventually, there will be a Dollmore girl I won't be able to resist. I wonder... will it be Ramie? A new size, only 20.5" (52 cm), she's a perfect younger sister BJD. I think she is lovely. Starting at $422, she's available for pre-order now.

A face-up (either default as shown or custom) will run an extra $55, body blushing is an additional $55, and sanding is an additional $65. As with all Dollmore BJDs, you may request specific color eyes and wigs, and they try their best to accommodate you.
